Though much has been accomplished since the City of Lakewood adopted its Sustainability Plan in 2015, City Council has felt a greater sense of urgency with the publication of the UN Climate Report. As a result, City Council has directed staff to identify ways to accelerate work on the goals outlined in the city’s Sustainability Plan.

Provide City Council with pricing options for district-based trash and recycling through the execution of an RFP
Conduct an evaluation of the impact that an additional FTE would have on achieving the sustainability plan’s goals
Conduct an evaluation of current efforts and activities in relation to the fulfillment of the plan’s goals
Provide City Council with an update on the progress toward achieving the plan’s goals
Provide a prioritized list of options to accelerate progress on achieving the plan’s goals
